I think you can choose to register at parents address or student address. You just need an address within the area that the GP serves. They don't need to know about your other address. However if you want treatment from one while staying in the other area I don't know how that would work.

I think you can apply to be a temporary resident at parents address if needed (at least you could in the olden days!)

Thank I’ve moved out of the student accommodation now for the summer but would be a lot of hassle to move my GP as the local one isn’t taking patients

I wouldn't bother. If you need to see a GP, register on a temporary basis as a holiday patient. Most surgeries will still deal with you when you're away if can be done via econsult etc. Just say you're there on holiday for a month or whatever.

They can also send prescriptions to your area, mind sent a Rx from Cornwall to Liverpool when I was up there for a week with work and managed to forget migraine meds and got a migraine....

You can choose to move to the student area or stay with parents. Most people seem to move, but dd chose to stay as if she moves back after uni then she'll never get into that surgery as it's full, and she's more likely to be here than there.

Register as a temporary resident at surgery near your parents 🙂
