Massive party on my street

Someone on my road is currently having a massive party that is SO loud - it’s about 20 doors away and sounds like a nightclub. I’m dreading the summer now the weather is warmer and restrictions are eased. It’s going to be one endless, fucking annoying, EXTREMELY noisy party for the next three months isn’t it? Selfish twats.

If it's that loud at this hour call the police.

GappyValley · 05/06/2021 23:44

Are you in SW London?
I’ve just been woken up by some dreadful group karaoke in a massive party on the next street

No idea how their immediate neighbours are putting up with it, it’s driving me mad..!

(Current wailing is to ‘if I could turn back time’, I think, so god knows what age they are!)

IdaArnold · 05/06/2021 23:44

Same 😞

june87654 · 05/06/2021 23:46

I will leave it up to the immediate neighbours to do that - I’m too scared of repercussions. If I can hear it this loud where I am then it must be unbearable for the immediates!

Ditto

I actually can’t believe anyone closer hasn’t called the police yet, it is so loud! Perhaps the cops won’t do anything before midnight?

They are being unreasonable by not inviting you. Have you phoned the police?

GappyValley · 05/06/2021 23:54

The police won’t do anything unless an actual crime is going on

You need to phone the environment health department at your council who will have a noise complaints team working in the evenings to investigate

Unless, of course, there are several cars acting suspiciously and you want to call the police to share your suspicions that drug dealers are visiting the party...

Threeisme · 05/06/2021 23:55

Same here. I'm waiting to see if it stops at midnight.

ShinyGreenElephant · 05/06/2021 23:57

Same here but the party is my daughter and her friends. They've turned the music off ages ago but the laughing is SO loud. What's so funny at midnight?

Duchess379 · 05/06/2021 23:57

Whereabouts are you? Unfortunately, this sort of thing is normally covered by the local councils noise abatement team & not the police. Police will only attend if they're running amok in the street, causing damage etc. Worth having a look online on your local council page.

GappyValley · 06/06/2021 00:01

OMFG someone is now making a speech with a megaphone
What the fuck is wrong with people?

On the plus side, it will give the street whatsapp group something more interesting than lost cats and recommendations for plumbers to talk about tomorrow

Ha same with my DS. Turns out a group of 17 yr old lads is very very loud. They've all just gone home though so hopefully not too awful for the neighbours. To be honest it was so nice to see him having fun with his mates having missed his 16th and 17th birthdays.
ShinyGreenElephant · 06/06/2021 00:09

@mozerella same here I'd rather let them have their fun and buy the neighbours chocolates tomorrow. Its Saturday night, theyve had a shitty year and they're so happy and excited, I'm leaving them to it. If they're still going in an hour I may change my mind!

GappyValley · 06/06/2021 00:11

Holy shit, it’s stopped!
Glorious silence!

I’m going back to sleep, night all

Wishing you all courteous neighbours, and failing that, efficient environmental health noise control teams

TrainspottingWelsh · 06/06/2021 00:14

Impossible to say without knowing what the music is. If it's decent music, yabvu. If it's ok music but just not to personal taste yabu and a bit miserable.
If it's shite music yanbu. If it's Ed Sheeran or Gary Barlow then it's your public duty to sabotage their electricity supply, even if that means the entire street losing power.
