Sertraline lack of motivation and low sex drive?

I have never had a hugely high sex drive so I didn't make any connection really. But after being on sertraline for general anxiety and health anxiety my husband and I have had sex maybe 4 times in 2.5 years. We only did it once or twice a month before that so I didn't really connect the two.

I also put a lot of weight on a few years ago after having my daughter. I had a health scare and lost 3 stone but in the last 2 years I've put almost 6 stone on. I had never thought that this might be to do with the medication and it's not that it's causing me to eat, but I think more dulling my motivation to lose weight.

I will eat better for a few days and then just think ah sod it I'll just be fat.

Could this be the sertraline do you think? I don't want to come off it just yet I don't think as it has helped a lot. And my husband and I rarely argue anymore because whereas I used to be irritable all the time I now just let a lot wash over me. But hopefully now I've made the (possible) connection I can try to fight against it

The 'dulling' and lack of libido are common side effects. There are lots of other anti-anxiety medicines you can try, so definitely speak to your GP.

Definitely a thing. I'm on 200mg and have absolutely zero sex drive. I'd rather be non-suicodal though and luckily DH feels the same. I'm not ready to lower my dose or change meds yet.

I've not had a high sex drive for years but it's just none existent now.

But I've heard that before, it's the lack of motivation I'm wondering if it's causing/not helping with. I know I'm overweight but just feel kind of 'meh' about it. Feel dreadful in my own skin and hate the way I look and how unfit I am however I can't find the motivation to do anything about it. I know I can as like I say I've lost 3 stone before quite easily

Same here. I'm on 25mg but I remember being on 100 and finding it really difficult to orgasm.

Yes 100%. I take 150mg daily, my sex drive is non-existent and my motivation to do anything at all is very very low. Everything is a huge effort, which is a struggle with a very active 1 year old!

My GP has referred me for psychosexual counselling, however the process is massively delayed at the moment.

Much like @TheGumption, I haven't lowered my dose as I would rather be in this position than feel suicidal.
