All she did today was moan and I snapped.

She moaned there was too much work

Moaned it was too busy ( work in retail in a busy seaside town)

Moaned we don't have enough staff

Moaned about the company

All I have done all day is listened to her constantly moan as we work on the same area.

Can still hear her moaning in my head now even though I'm home 🤣

Have to put up with her again tomorrow and Saturday.

I told her to stop whinging and just get on with her work, less moaning = more work.

AIBU to wear ear plugs to work tomorrow 😂

I hate moaners, do my head in.

Moonshine11 · 03/06/2021 18:56

There is honestly nothing worse than someone who goes on like this.

BakedTattie · 03/06/2021 18:59

But, isn’t that the purpose of work - to moan about how you can’t be arsed?! Grin

I’m in the camp of being a moaner so prob not the best one to answer

soapboxqueen · 03/06/2021 19:02

Someone I used to work with had a sigh.

They'd sigh on their way in and I could hear it as they approached the door.

It was a sigh that just sapped energy from anyone who heard it.

I still feel irritated at anyone who sighs in even a slightly similar manner.

I worked with someone like that abs the only reason why I didn't snap is because I at work I somehow have the patience of a saint. Anywhere else I would have snapped

Yanbu you have my sympathy's it's awful working with a moaner

Moonshine11 · 03/06/2021 19:10

@Wearywithteens

I thought that was workplace solidarity - listening to each other moan about how shit your job is? This is the stuff they make sitcoms out of! Are you some sort of corporate robot who jumps out of bed with joy for low paid retail work when you’re understaffed and busy? I personally think people like you - who happily accept this shit and don’t moan - are the problem. The fact that you snapped at her makes you aggressive and a bully. YABU
Wow
vodkaredbullgirl · 03/06/2021 19:12

We have a moan at work all in 1 go, then leave it at that.

funnylittlefloozie · 03/06/2021 19:13

Snapping at someone once does NOT make her a bully.

Even though I'm in the fortunate position of loving my job, I still like having a good moan sometimes.

BestOfABadLot · 03/06/2021 19:14

I don't think some people realise how bloody draining their constant moaning is. You can have a bit of a whine to your colleagues but not all bloody day bringing everyone else down.

Ponoka7 · 03/06/2021 19:15

@Wearywithteens, moaning doesn't change things. It brings down people's mood, stops them from seeing any positives and the quality of work drops. Many of the customers are low paid and they deserve a level of service. I find that people who moan the most tend not to vote because 'they are all the same'. They also don't get involved with politics. People are going to work with real problems and just getting on with things, also for low pay, they don't want to hear it.

animalcrossingfan2020 · 03/06/2021 19:23

@Wearywithteens I very rarely moan at work would just rather get on with my job. I don't jump out of bed happy to go to work every morning but I don't see the point in constantly moaning whilst at work no matter how bad the situation. At the end of the day it's a job and if it's that bad I can get another.
A colleague of mine died in a car accident a few years ago on her way to work and ever since then I limit how much I moan. Life is too short to spend it all day at work moaning.

NigellaSeed · 03/06/2021 19:25

I had mood Hoover's. I love a good gossip/laugh about how useless your own boss is/company is now and then- but not moaning - so draining on everyone else.

NigellaSeed · 03/06/2021 19:26
  • I hate mood Hoover's
WhatsTheEffingPoint · 03/06/2021 19:37

They are Emotional Vampires round this way.

We all have a moan about our jobs occasionally, it's natural to but to constantly go on and on, Nope that's too much.

I work on the basis that when I start to dread going into work every day because of the job/people and I can't do anything to change it then it's time to move on.

Moonshine11 · 03/06/2021 19:40

@NigellaSeed mood hoover! I love that 😂

BarbarianMum · 03/06/2021 19:42

Agree with Effing

An occasional therapeutic moan- fine. Moaning on and on - really not ok and so tedious.
