Hi everyone. I had surgery about 10 years ago on my nose had a lot of issues with my breathing and septum . All went well but I always felt my nose was a little crooked and it does cause my some anxiety. Now I have decided to go private and get a rhinoplasty. I went in early February to see consultant in private hospital and was informed it would be a wait with the Covid situation and more people choosing to go private . He also said he was going to request my notes from nhs consultant. Now when he said wait I really wasn't expecting this long . I've called his secretary a few times who I felt was just palming me off with "still waiting for nhs notes ". I obviously can't speak to consultant directly unless I want to shell out £180 to have a consultation. Aibu in thinking the time waited is a little ridiculous considering I'm paying ?? Thanks

Well, when I requested NHS hospital notes and paid my £50 (or whatever it was) they actually posted them all to the wrong address, so I have no faith in them.

Can you ring the records department of the hospital where you had the surgery

It's more likely hospital admin than the consultant. They usually can't find patient notes with a map, GPS guidance and a team of Sherpas.

I'd complain to PALS
