I read that there can be a huge improvement in hair , skin and nails and general appearance . If this is true, why don't we hear more about the positives of hrt. There seems to be a hesitance for many women regarding hrt.

Watching with interest, currently having hormone tests 6 weeks apart with a view to starting this.
At the moment I feel knackered, random night sweats, I'm absolutely covered in spots, my hair is lank, nails brittle and I can bit your head off for saying good morning.

In my opinion, HRT makes a big difference but you have to find one that works for you and it takes a few months for your body to get used to it. I am currently on the combined patches which are helping a lot but I still don't feel 100% myself. Maybe I need to tweak something? Having the oestrogen boost has made a big difference so I'm glad I'm on something.

My friend takes Elleste Duet and swears by it in terms of hair and skin improvement. I tried it and felt terrible during the second part of the pills in the pack so like I said above, it's trial and error.

Been on it six weeks now and could not be happier. I am high risk for blood clots (adverse reaction to the contraceptive pill in my late teens which created 20 years of intermittent clots and medication of warfarin and heparin) so I really resorted to HRT (well GP did!) as a last resort because the menopause was causing me so much grief.
So...
Hot flushes reduced from average of 7 a day to 1 a fortnight
Hair loss has virtually stopped
I'm calmer and feel on an even keel for the first time in 2 years
Sleep - for last 2 years I had averaged 4 and half hours a night but the max in one go was 2 hours. After two weeks on HRT I now sleep an average of five hours uninterrupted and if I am lucky I can get another forty minutes to an hour if I force myself to stay in bed.
Brain fog has stopped completely
Skin looks better and nails are stronger

I am only on a half dose due to the risks but I can not believe how much it has changed my life for the better. I take the oestrogen in a gel form on my skin and the other one (can't remember name!) in tablet form. Some people I know use the patches but it seems from their issues with those the gel may be easier?

Feel free to DM me if you want more gory details!

I have a coil and Oestrogel, I don’t notice an immediate effect, I’d probably say it took a couple of months to feel more like the me of a couple of years ago. I’d never thought about the effect on my hair and skin but thinking about they both look good. I started taking HRT because of how I felt, I didn’t consider my looks.

Im on Evorel Conti.
Sleep, sweats all much better, don't get any hot flushes now.
I have been having cbt for recurrent depressive disorder. Within 6 weeks of starting hrt I'd gone from severe depression to normal.
Therapist had never seen anything like it and im sure it was mostly due to hrt.
