Hi,

I have bought a glass cake stand online on etsy, The description was excellent condition and didn't describe the mark.

However the owner has messaged me after I have paid to say that while packaging they saw it and said it's really obvious but not a crack because it's smooth. It must have happened during the manufacturing process. The type of vintage crinkled glass I didn't see a mark in the middle - the pictures and light make it quite hard to see .

AIBU to think I should now get this at a reduced price then what I paid? Or should I just say I don't want it anymore then? I guess I don't mind the mark but worried if it could actually be a crack as feel I have been misled now.

They've messaged to let you know so I think the ball is in your court. Up to you if you want to ask for a discount? I'd personally ask for more pictures?

Thank you. I did ask for more pictures but their response was that it was hard to tell in pictures but in person it is very obvious.

It happens - has happened to me selling vintage things before, sometimes you’ll come to pack it and it will catch the light differently and you’ll see something.

If I were selling I would either offer you a discount or a refund.

Ask for a refund

Else as you use it the item will only deteriorate further and smash

BlueDucky · 02/06/2021 19:54

Ah I'd ask for a refund and thank them for their honesty. Or offer to pay £1 and postage for it and take your chances.

honeygirlz · 02/06/2021 19:56

Definitely ask for a refund.

Thanks I've asked for a refund
