How to cope with boring job

I feel like a should be happy securing a full time job in these rough times of covid even if it is the hospital switchboard. However I hate it I started it in April and I'm so bored of it already sitting at a desk all day. Same thing day in day out!

I want to try and stay a little bit longer if I can manage too as I don't want to be seen a job hopper. I have two DC's and I feel like I'm missing out on being with them for this soul draining job.

I don't know what to do I feel so stuck

Don't bother. Find a new job as quickly as possible; people will understand that it didn't suit you.

People will easily accept it as a fill in job if you want to find something else.

Do you know what sort of thing you’d enjoy?

Oh god, is this why hospital switchboard people seem so off-hand? I often have to phone hospital switchboards for my job and they seem so disinterested and just transfer you without letting you finish your sentence 🤣

Find a way to make it more fun. Gamify it in some way. For example, what about a bingo card for transferring calls to all the different departments? or fielding calls from/for people with surnames that cover the whole alphabet? Or having bets with yourself about what the next call will be about...?
I don't think quitting is a good idea. Are you new to working life/returning after a very long break?

@HmmmmmmInteresting ahh hope you haven't been speaking to me 😂

I've been back in work now since September after being at home with the kids for years. But this job is very boring compared to my previous temp job.

I need to be on my feet keeping myself busy instead of clock watching all day. I need to figure out what I want to do really.

Just don't put it on your cv if you think you will look like a job hopper.
