...who live next to bratty teenagers who play their music LOUD.

I've been dreading half term for exactly this reason, by some miracle the little cherub next door went away during the last half term (I only know this because I didn't hear a peep from him and it was bliss)

But right on time the music has started today and this will be it now for the rest of the week. The mum is there too but couldn't care less, despite us previously asking nicely if he could turn it down because, y'know, we live in terraced houses and we can't hear ourselves think. But she is the mindset that her kids have a right to do whatever they want, whenever they want.

Anyone else dealing with extra noise this week, you are not alone!!!

oh no, please dont say it is only me having to suffer a pounding hip hop bass for rest of the week while still trying to hold myself together in meetings Sad anyone? Grin

Sorry, I'm loving half term! My road is not clogged with a bunch of range rovers that drive their owners rather than the other way round GrinBut I do feel your pain. As a teenager, my mum would always buy us about music volume and put pissed us off. But she was right - and a good neighbour.

I'd send wishes for an electricity blackout your way - but that probably wouldn't help the meetings!!

I dont have music but have a very loud lawnmower, and a neighbour who is also WFH who goes into her back garden to take sensitive work calls that she doesn't want the rest of her household to hear. But she has such a loud voice that the whole street can hear!

WiddlinDiddlin · 01/06/2021 14:48

I hear ya...

From my home office which is mere feet away from Her Next Door who is genuinely the loudest person on the earth with the awfulest brizzle accent...

A few metres from a fucking building site that appears to employ very shouty brummies who LOVE dropping loads of scaff poles and driving beepy things and smashing digger buckets into the ground a lot...

T'other side who are lovely but have the LOUDEST CHILDREN EVER have apparently gone away, but their landlord is doing something loud to their garden so they might as well still be here tbh..

And it's so fucking hot I can't shut the patio doors to escape the noise.

honeygirlz · 01/06/2021 14:56

argh could you put on some shitty music that they would hate as revenge?

ConstantlySeekingHappiness · 01/06/2021 15:13

I spent the morning listening to very loud “performance grandparenting” in a neighbouring garden. With loud nursery rhymes and instrument playing. This appeared to be for everyone else’s benefit and not the child.

It’s warm here so need the windows open.

You're lucky it's only for a week. My drug-addict neighbour who is constantly screaming at the benefits people on the phone that she needs more money but still takes taxis at least twice a day is a permanent fixture. Sometimes music, usually shouting and always stomping above me.

Count yourself lucky you don't live in Ireland. This is the first week of 13 weeks summer holiday for secondary school kids.
