To go to bed at 8.30pm?

I'm in Oz so it's evening here. I recently started a part time job managing a large craft gallery and coffee shop. It's only 2 days per week on weekends and I feel like I've been run over!

It's so much more tiring than my previous job of being a shop assistant in a smaller shop. This new job is in a large building and I've got much more to think about...I'm new to managing others and having such a responsibility (keys, money, stock etc).

I also work 2-3 days per week at home running my own small business (copywriting) and I thought this "little part-time job" would be just the thing to get me out of the house more.

I do like it but when will I get used to it?? This has been my third weekend.

I'm late 40s and perimenopausal...that's probably not helping. AIBU to just bugger off to bed? Should I worry that I'm this tired or does that sound normal?

Feels weird going to bed as teens are still up and busy!

how much sleep will you get? ie what time do you get up?

I don't think so. I have recently been diagnosed with Narcolepsy and I find by 8.30pm - 9pm I'm ready for bed.

But even before I became ill I would often find myself shattered in the evenings. Often dozing off in my chair or on the sofa when I got home from work. I think you're fine. But perhaps if it's really worrying you, see a doctor :)

First few weeks in new job early nights are pretty usual. 9 pm isn't really that early either if you start early enough.
I would give it a couple more weeks with no guilt or worries what so ever.

It'll take time to build up your stamina, keep at it.

If you are tired go to bed, it doesn’t matter what time it is. You will get used to the new job soon enough I am sure.
