my mum died in November (not of covid but it was on her death cert??), my long term relationship went to hell, I am in between homes, I am a late starter to driving and wanted to learn but can't.

feel so trapped.

am still living with ex. we are good but Jesus this is hard.

no, sadly I have plenty enough money (not wealthy though!) and can't figure a way forward. Queues for driving lessons , few properties to rent on the market, etc. I am a renter by choice but Jesus things have shrunk!)

HazeyJaneII · 29/05/2021 00:26

Sorry things suck so badly

Custardo · 29/05/2021 00:47

i reckon one goal at a time. book the lessons despite the queues - somthing to aim for. something to achieve.

BluePeterVag · 29/05/2021 00:54

Flowers you are not alone. I’m floating between hellish pangs of anxiety at the moment. Everything is shit, we don’t have any spare money at all, and there is no way for it to get better but I have some hope that it will. Clouds always clear up at some point, they always do.

gulliblestravels · 29/05/2021 00:58

buy a (camper) van and you can live in it while you learn to drive Smile

Kinny14 · 29/05/2021 00:59

Sorry to hear about your mam and sorry things are so shit for you. If people copped on and refused the bull shit things would actually go back to normal.

musicforsmorks · 29/05/2021 01:05

thank you

musicforsmorks · 29/05/2021 01:06

spotcheck · 29/05/2021 01:09

*house?

Cryalot2 · 29/05/2021 01:17

Flowers life seems shit at the moment, hoping things improve big time soon.
Cats can manage a nomadic lifestyle, so go for the campervan. I would love one or a houseboat.

Tealightsandd · 29/05/2021 01:30

It's been a really shit year (more than a year now).

I'm really sorry about your mum Flowers

It's possible more people might move now things have opened up a bit. Hopefully suitable homes will become available. Some first time buyers were waiting for the stamp duty to end before buying. Perhaps now they can find an affordable less inflated buy - freeing up rentals for those looking to rent.

With the driving, i hope this might help to boost your motivation or confidence. A family member learnt in their 50s. It was harder, took more time to learn,. and she didn't pass first time - but she did it ! Smile

thank you! I haven't lived a very conventional lifestyle (in 40's now) but have experienced a good anoint of privilege so find it hard to complain. Still, this past year has upended me entirely. end of a relationship of 30 years. I guess it's all relative. there are worse off, but shit.
