What do others think?

Looks like ots upside down Confused

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 28/05/2021 20:41

Fuck me.

Has it been designed like that so if it crashes no one notices?

Looks like a giant sat on it.

CoffeeCakey · 28/05/2021 20:42

Looks stupid.

ladygracie · 28/05/2021 20:44

Oh it really does look like that!
If there are safety officers on board who can take control if needed then what is the point of it being driverless? Am I being really dim? Now off to read exactly where it will be in Cambridge so I can avoid it!

Ginuwine · 28/05/2021 20:44

Looks so "stupid" that the stupid people who complain about traffic in the area will sit there in gridlock, ignoring the solution, but happy in the notion that they eschewed progress just so they could slag off the aesthetic

giletrouge · 28/05/2021 20:45

God that's horrible. Whoever designed that needs their eyes polishing and needs sending back to design school.

newnortherner111 · 28/05/2021 20:50

We had them in Greenwich and they looked much better.

To think this bus looks like it crashed already?
ArcherDog · 28/05/2021 20:51

I agree.
I live in Cambridge and think it’s a terrible and dangerous idea.

Grin it does
ladygracie · 28/05/2021 20:52

@ArcherDog Yes - me too. Nothing to do with how it looks. Just can’t see it being safe.

Ostara212 · 28/05/2021 20:54

That is better.

Are they use in Greenwich now?

WelshDaffodil · 28/05/2021 20:55

I'm not sure why people think they wouldn't be safe. After many years of research they're probably better than human drivers. I think in the future we'll look back and wonder how we ever let a human be in charge of a bus.

I was wondering this myself. Is it because if you’re a “safety operator” and not a bus driver, they don’t have to hire someone in or deal with the transport union? That would be a bit crap of them, but not surprising at all.
Ostara212 · 28/05/2021 21:02

I was thinking a safety operator would be there in case of attacks or something.

Christ, not just upside down but inside out and possibly from another and deeply unpleasant dimension.

It looks like something from the dungeon dimensions that rincewind would have to fight.
Or like a rock monster from lego Nexo knights.

I've never seen such a pig ugly vehicle in my life.

cocoloco987 · 28/05/2021 21:03

Looks like a character from Thomas has been rolled on its back 😆

Herewegoagainok · 28/05/2021 21:08

Ive heard of these popping up in a few places but not seen it in action. I don't understand how they are green. Are they electric? How do they create jobs if I'm fact they're driverless Confused do they hold many passengers? Why not just improve current modes of public transport instead of adding a gimmicky new one that will probably cost an arm and a leg and thus just be used by tourists?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/05/2021 21:09

Oooh it's terrifying. Imagine seeing that behind you in your rear view mirror
on a dark lonley road.

Looks like something out of a horror movie.

I'm so glad it's not just me! I'd be thinking I'd driven into a zombie world where they hold of a bus, wrecked it and were using it to mow down innocent motorists 😂

In the same way that the guided bus was the solution? Or Cambridge north station? Or making comfier trains with less seating capacity because they were increasing platform sizes, expect the platform extensions are happening years after they reduced seating capacity on the train? Or adding the third Lane of the A14 at Histon? Or the new A14?

Cambridge always has a ‘solution’ for its traffic issues. You can have a ‘solution’, if there is ever actually a solution to the issue of traffic in Cambridge, without it looking like it having to look like it’s piece of contemporary art. If this is the solution, surely it can just look like a regular shuttle rather than Cambridge having to make a point? Again.

RestingCatsBumFace · 28/05/2021 21:13

It looks like packet of crisps.

Quite like the Greenwich one, reminds me of a roadsweeper or a weird sea thing.

Yes it does look like that too!

There is something cartoonish about the Greenwich one but much better than a....bussing bus crash design.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/05/2021 21:23

I think the bus itself is a zombie rather than zombies taking over it.
Erm ill shut up now. Grin. I do actually plan on sleeping tonight. 😂😂😂

Ostara212 · 28/05/2021 21:26

Isn't there a cartoon where a vehicle goes round sweeping the seabed? Maybe Spongebob Squarepants?

OP posts:
OhRene · 28/05/2021 21:32

It looks like it's designed to chop limbs on impact like some Mad Max style vehicle!
