Had my covid vaccine on Tuesday morning . On Monday I had a tooth taken out with stitches put in, dentist attempted to remove a second but gave up as couldn’t get it . There’s quite a sizeable hole in my gum plus stitches . Dentist gave no aftercare advice just a leaflet selling cosmetic dentistry .
I’ve been rinsing with hot salt water, mint mouthwash but getting a foul taste (like tonsil stones) and dried blood in the mornings.
On top of that spent all day Tuesday on the sofa - then all day yesterday in bed asleep . Figured that was partly the vaccine as had a mild fever, headache, muscle aches etc .
Bed last night at 8, fast asleep then woke up with nightmares/night sweats around 4am feeling very weak and giddy. Woke myself up shouting out .
Woke up again at 6, still high fever, very dizzy, headache and exhausted . Mouth full of dried blood again, when I’m coughing salvia red tinged . Abdominal cramping and nausea . Don’t feel well at all .
I haven’t eaten properly since 8am Monday - yesterday was just ice cream, a bit of cake and lots of water . Day before I managed three small meals in tiny bite size bits, Monday I ate nothing at all after breakfast . I’m drinking and managing ice lollies and peeing plenty .
I’m thinking this isn’t just the vaccine now and I’m probably unwell with a dental infection .
However - I’m in very little pain? I’ve been taking cocodamol as prescribed and ibuprofen and using ice packs/ice cubes which is mostly controlling pain . I thought if I had an abscess or dry socket I’d be in agony .
I’m guessing with a fever I can’t attend the dentist or GP as probably should now be self isolating - wwyd? Ring dentist and see if they’ll prescribe over the phone?
