I'm so pleased for her that I'm posting here so as many people as possible can see this, especially those that are going through a shit time separating from dh/dp.

"Kerry" was in a financially abusive marriage for over 10 years, together 19.
She had no job and no money of her own and had to ask dh for handouts to buy stuff for kids etc.
She has got a job in care work over the last couple of months and has worked every hour she can,all this whilst still living with ex and doing everything (between shifts) for her two teen dc.

This morning she has rung me elated as she has been given the go ahead for a rental house all of her own.A fresh start without being dependant on a selfish prick of a man.

I'm so fucking proud of her

This is lovely to hear, and I’m pleased for her.

I’m on day 5 of splitting up with a man who has controlled me financially and emotionally abused me for 10 years, and I’ll admit I’m struggling. I’m worried about my future, whether I can keep my home, and whether I’ll recover emotionally. Hearing positive stories really helps.
