Is it me or has anyone else found that Amazon are becoming less reliable with their advertised delivery dates.

Prime is less likely to be the same day - but that's been for the last year or so, and I do get stuff on the day advised.
Might depend on area? I live in central London, usually multiple amazon deliveries to my block daily. I was very aware when I had something delivered when away on holiday that it was probably miles away from another delivery.

ThinWomansBrain · 25/05/2021 04:01

And stuff frequently delivered here in error can sit in the lobby for a few days until someone realises it's for one of a handful of flats in a block across the road.

I have just placed an order via prime which they advertised as coming tomorrow I have just had the confirmation through and it now being sent standard delivery between Thursday and Saturday. Fortunately not actually worried when it comes, it’s just really annoying.

Why is it annoying if there is no urgency for you about when it arrives?

I don't know how much Amazon's advertised delivery windows match up with real-time stock + an understanding of the status of the logistics network. Was the item from Amazon itself, or fulfilled by a third party supplier? That can make a difference too especially in these COVID-19 disrupted times (yeah I know folk don't like that, but it is a thing).

My point is that Amazon's advertised delivery isn't a promise. It's an indicator.

And you didn't even need it to arrive when it was indicated to... so why is this even a thing?

YABU.

(I don't work for Amazon, no one in my family or friends network works for them).

I've cancelled my prime as I've found that getting the free, longer delivery was arriving the same length of time that prime offered.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 25/05/2021 06:14

Definitely seem to be getting more 'sorry your parcel has been delayed' emails. Can't complain though, the amount I use prime it is still well worth the money

Pixxie7 · 25/05/2021 07:40

GINUWINE@ I take your point but if it’s not available for prime they shouldn’t advertise it as such.

GINUWINE@ I take your point but if it’s not available for prime they shouldn’t advertise it as such.

Then use the feedback service on Amazon to tell them.

Chasingsquirrels · 25/05/2021 07:47

I don't have Prime and find if anything that the delivery schedule exceeds the date given, which can be equally annoying as I time my orders around the dates to ensure I'll be around to take delivery - and then they deliver early and I'm not here.

BobFlemingHere · 25/05/2021 07:49

I cancelled Prime about 8 months ago because of this.

SoupDragon · 25/05/2021 07:52

I've not had any problems but you do need to check which delivery option is ticked when you check out. Sometimes it doesn't default to "Prime next day".

Some of the advertised prime delivery dates aren't "next day" but I find they generally do arrive on the day they advertise.

Sinner10 · 25/05/2021 07:54

I think Amazon is great, I find things get delivered faster than advertised 🤷‍♀️

SoupDragon · 25/05/2021 07:55

No, it's a promise. It actually says "guaranteed delivery"

Greenrubber · 25/05/2021 08:10

It's annoying because prime items are more expensive!
When you order prime you know its a little more expensive but you don't mind because you get it quickly
So when you don't get it quickly of course it's annoying

Mynamenotaccepted · 25/05/2021 08:29

Strange, ordered 2 sleepsuits were due to arrive 5th June they have just arrived! 🤔

Acupofcamus · 25/05/2021 09:25

Same. I’ve noticed more and more stuff is going missing and next day doesn’t always mean next day anymore, it can mean 2-3 days.

mogsrus · 25/05/2021 09:30

never been let down by them.

Fairyliz · 25/05/2021 09:34

No if anything it’s been better.
We don’t have prime but everything we have ordered recently has come the next day or even the same day in one case.
