Is now a really bad time to buy a house?

Hardly anything is up for sale but it seems to sell very quickly and the prices seem to be getting higher. Lots of houses are listed as being online viewing only but still seem to sell.

I was hoping to buy somewhere in time to apply for a school place for DS but it looks like it will be really difficult. Do you think it will et better or worse?

If you can find something you both like and can afford and you are planning in living in it for a few years then I really wouldn't worry about short term predictions tbh.

My only observation around here is that house prices have risen massively so you might be paying a lot more than you might have done even 6 months ago. If you're planning to stay a while though house prices don't usually fall too far in the long term.

A lot of the nice houses that were on my budget 6 months ago aren’t anymore. This means I will have to get somewhere smaller than I would like which does make it less long term.
