To take my screaming baby to my neighbours party

Obviously I’m not going to take my baby out anywhere. But my neighbours are having a very loud party. We live in flats and I’m right above them. I know it’s Saturday and not that late. My son has recently started being so unsettled in the night, to the point I’m so exhausted I’m in bed for 7 with him.
Anyway this has been going on from about 5pm, I’ve had the white noise blasting but their music is still so loud. I can’t sleep and my son is really unsettled. I feel bad because I’ve knocked about noise before, I don’t want to be a kill joy but I’m so tired. No signs of letting up as I’ve heard more people arriving

I feel for you Flowers my neighbours are having a party too and a loud argument has spilled out onto the street. DD(6) is asleep but I'm on edge waiting for her to wake up, same neightbours have woken her up a few times before.

It's shit. You can't help but seethe in these situations sometimes whether that makes you unreasonable or not.

is it a regular thing op?

Tiredandfired · 22/05/2021 23:19

I think it’s just the lack of sleep making me extra grumpy. I’m going to be up at least 3 more times before 5am Sad. And that’s if he sleeps

No last time was when they were doing diy at the weekend at this time. I was frazzled and knocked, they said they needed to get it done. At 11pm?! But apart from that no. So I don’t want to begrudge them their fun. Wish they would of mentioned it

It's after 11pm, I'd ask for them to turn it down a little.

I would wait until the end of eurovision as it might be a eurovision party. And really, your baby probably disturbs them quite a bit. When you live in flats it is give and take on noise.

But the DIY thing was stupid on their part and they should have stopped around 8

I did the kids having a party were whispering dad its someone holding a baby in there pjamers WTF DO WE DO! he said he would "deal with me" I was nice and asked them to turn it down he said naaa luv go home and pointed across the hall I pointed out im from two floors above shut it up or the police will shut it down.....they turned it down then back up after I had left I was on the phone to the police begging them for help when there was some loud bangs (like a door being kicked in) followed by more noise (like a stereo being kicked in) followed by silence i said never mind looks like its stopped and went to bed there was a huge amount of police around later but no one ever came forward to say who did it all I know is it definitely wasn't me

Do some Irish dancing and Bulgarian throat singing from 6am

Lanesra1886 · 22/05/2021 23:55

After 11:00 is unreasonable

AlwaysLatte · 23/05/2021 00:00

It's totally reasonable to ask them to quieten it down after 11, it's not really on to have loud, late parties in flats.

littlepattilou · 23/05/2021 00:01

Call 101. If it's after 11pm.

Why are people such inconsiderate twats?
