Sunday Day Out

Opinions needed please. Where would you pick for a day out tomorrow. Need to get back home for work on Monday so can’t stay over.

Oban
Aberfeldy
Bamburgh
Melrose

Or anywhere else about 2-3 hours from Central Scotland.

This is our first day away in what feels like forever. Plan to leave early tomorrow say 7/8 am. Need to be home by 9-10pm.

Oban is lovely!

Oban was my first choice but weather not looking so good up that way.

With kids, DP, others? Ages of all involved?

Me, DH DS age 15.

Made me smile because I'm from Melrose way but currently in Aberfeldy.

I would do coast. Bamburgh. Beadnell, walk along beach, might as well go to Alnwick if down that way. Pub lunch, fish and chips. Something about the coast good for the soul.

I am drawn to the coast too. Yes I think you are right.

The weather has ruled out the north west, Oban Inveraray etc. So South East it is. I love Bamburgh and even the very uncouth, by Mumsnet standards, Seahouses.

Crossing the border into England may be as far as I will get this year.
