Help me. Have an unexpected child free day. What shall I do?

Just that really. I deserve this day off. Husband is on duty so no worries about babysitters. Where shall I go on my own? Don't want to spend stupid amounts of money but happy to treat myself a bit. Please hit me with your suggestions.

What's open where you live? Do you have to book?

ghislaine · 22/05/2021 16:19

Check into a Travelodge, have a bath and go to bed. Bliss.

VainAbigail · 22/05/2021 16:20

Is the day off today?!

gingerandproud4always · 22/05/2021 16:32

Sorry it is tomorrow. Most things are open now I think.

Yes - cheap hotel room for tonight (or an expensive one if budget allows!), a book to read, bottle of wine or something else you like, takeaway/room service for dinner, then a good lie-in tomorrow, a morning of loungeing/relaxing if that’s your thing, then a mooch around town/shops and restaurant lunch. Perfect!

Ninkanink · 22/05/2021 16:51

Sorry, just re-read and expensive hotel probably counts as stupid money, tbf.

shouldistop · 22/05/2021 17:18

God not a travel lodge.

Moonshine11 · 22/05/2021 17:20

Treat yourself to a nice breakfast in a little cafe
Have a wonder round some shops
Have some lunch
Is there any particular you’ve been wanting to do lately?

VainAbigail · 22/05/2021 18:25

Start the day with a breakfast out somewhere then see where the flow takes you....

Rainbowqueeen · 22/05/2021 18:27

Museum? Art gallery? Long walk that children wouldn’t cope with
Lovely restaurant for lunch

Enjoy!

Livingintheclouds · 22/05/2021 18:30

I'd book a nice massage and facial, then a lunch with a girlfriend, a bit of shopping if you fancy that, then somewhere for afternoon tea!

Checkingout811 · 22/05/2021 18:31

@Livingintheclouds has got what I was going to say! Bliss 😍

DarlingCoffee · 22/05/2021 18:46

I’m not sure if they are open but I would head to my nearest spa for a spa day and lunch and just spend the day having a nice swim and lazing about possibly with a facial.

Egghead68 · 22/05/2021 18:53

Long walk and coffee and cake outside if the weather’s nice.

katy1213 · 22/05/2021 18:56

Cinema - I bet you haven't been for ages!

Talcott2007 · 22/05/2021 19:07

If it was me I'd book myself a couple treatments like pedicure, massage etc there is a nice day spa near me that often has good half-day deals involving brunch and access the the facilities, so I'd have a nice a swim and float about in the jacuzzi and chill with a book in a big fluffy robe. Then evening would be my favourite take out, wine and really anything I fancied a good film and then an early night!

Catswithflamingos · 22/05/2021 19:17

Oh so many things!

Spa day, or a massage.

Cinema with a tango ice blast.

Charity shop mooching.

Expensive Starbucks drinks.

Enjoy!

Nuggetnugget · 22/05/2021 19:20

Sounds lovely. I would take myself off somewhere to but a few new homewares (but I love organising and doing up my home or you could go clothes shopping or shoe shopping if that's your thing)
I would get breakfast out. Then shop and then have a glass of wine somewhere and read the Sunday papers.

Nuggetnugget · 22/05/2021 19:21

I love a charity shop mooch Grin

sollythecat · 22/05/2021 19:33

I would have a run, a long coffee and cake in a coffee shop with a good book, a walk whilst listening to a podcast and then back for a bath, into comfortable clothes and a film/Netflix series.
