New baby tips for an easy life

Am having a baby in 6 weeks (after a 12 year gap!), and last time I was so overwhelmed and really ill after a horrid birth. This time I have a great partner and some spare income (£500 a month) so what would you do to make life smoother this time?

Cleaner. Frozen meals. Disposable nappies. Tumble drier. Comfortable rocking chair. Electric pump, if needed.

Start batch cooking, fill up your freezer !

Yes to a cleaner !

Just make it simple and keep sleepsuits. 9 sleepsuits was what I needed and that was enough. Really wished we didn't even buy one or two outfits that we bought.

If bottle feeding. One-two are enough. Two I'd say in case you lose one. We've just been using the one and baby is 3 months. With my first I had 6 and it was annoying washing so many.

Sleep when baby sleeps is the best thing. Don't worry about your house being clean. Freeze food or make extra and eat leftovers. Drink lots of water.

Cleaner; we had one second time around as I knew I’d be having a c section and I didn’t want to stress about it.
Also spend money on healthy ready to cook meals.

Loads of basic vests, babygrows etc so you don’t feel overwhelmed by keeping on top of laundry. Extra crib sheets / muslins / bedding as you can go through several a day. Extra Moses basket for downstairs living area so you don’t have to carry it up and down, or a baby bean bag / roam too for the downstairs. White noise machine from day 1. Nice coffee, subscription to Netflix or similar, stash of nice snacks.

Have a declutter and get rid of the to do list before baby arrives. Set up shopping delivery and Amazon prime now and hire a cleaner now. Robot vacuum cleaner, dishwasher. Get oven cleaned etc. Congratulations and good luck 💐👍

Make use of the 12 year old lol. Make sure partner and 12 year old can do basics like washing, bit of tidying, make sure they can make basic meals.

Plus some in house treats to give 12 year old each week. Perhaps make sure hey have 5 days worth of school uniform so dont have to worry until weekend.

Or get a cleaner and subscription to meal service. My friend sends her washing out to a service

Perhaps a delivery pass for supermarket with pre made shopping lists and meals. Def batch cook and freeze.

I used cloth nappies so had all those ready to go. A friend used a nappy service. They picked up dirty nappies and gave her clean ones.

Lasinoh if planning to breast feed.

Meal kits were really helpful to me with number two. Online shopping too.

Cleaner if you can afford it is amazing.
