If you enjoy an outdoors lifestyle, were you happy living in the city?

I've lived in large cities for years now, and though I really like where I live, it's starting to get to me that I can't easily go horse riding, or spend time pottering about with horses outside. We also can't have a dog, as no garden and in a small flat.

If you enjoy things you do outside - do you live in a city and are you happy to stay for the long term? Or did you move somewhere you can have more of an outdoors lifestyle?

We love an outdoors lifestyle, we live in a town as cannot afford to move atm but spend alot of time in the countryside on daytrips.

Yes, but I didn't have pets that needed to be outside. I think that would've been difficult. I remember someone taking their dog out of flats to walk it on some spare ground, seemed tricky compared to if you have fields.

I think it very much depends on what the part of the city you're in is like. Some areas have easy access to canal paths which are beautiful and you feel like you're in the countryside. Whereas with some you could feel very trapped in. Some have big, beautiful parks or a selection of parks. Some don't.

If you have a balcony I'd try to redo that and make the most of it, have an outdoor sitting area with plants, etc.
