Would this annoy you, or AIBU?

Cooked a large pizza for lunch. Cut it in to 4 pieces - 2 each for DH and I. He eats his two slices. I eat one slice, then realise I can't eat my 2nd slice, so offer to get the pizza cutter and divide my 2nd slice between us. DH says not to bother getting the cutter, and then picks up the pizza and tears it in half with his hands. He has a sniffly cold, and didn't wash his hands before lunch. I now don't want any of it. He says IABU. Am I?

I would think he’s probably already given you the cold if you’re going to get it. But it’s a bit yuck.

To be honest no this wouldn’t bother me from my DH; we share a bed, cuddle and kiss even when each of us has a cold on top of obviously living in the same home touching the same things so i wouldnt be worried

I assume you share a bed so you've probably got the cold germs from him already but not washing his hands before eating is a bit gross.

Maybe IABU then. It just didn't seem very appetising after that. This cold has been lingering for over a week, and I really don't fancy getting it for the sake of half a slice of pizza.

Wouldn't bother me at all

We have a huge bed, and a fan, so thankfully I haven't caught it from sharing a bed. Yet!

This wouldn't annoy me either - I literally let him put body parts inside my body parts (TMI) so I think I can cope with unwashed hands. You'll get his cold regardless. (Although I'd disagree that you HAVE to share your piece with him just because he ate faster).

It's the state of the slice that would bother me. You share everything else with your husband, so him touching your food is a non-issue!

If he had literally just sneezed into his bare hands and then ripped it in half I wouldn’t be able to eat it. If not then it wouldn’t bother me 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m currently full of a cold and my DP drank the last half of my drink, I was a bit 😖

I am so fussy about how my food is handled. So yes this would bother me and yes I wouldn’t eat it.

Wouldn't bother me normally - it's just because he has a bad cold.

If he's had a cold for a week you would have got it if you're going to, so I don't see the specific issue.
He should have washed his hands either way though.

I presume he's touched door handles, the loo flush, kitchen cupboards, the fridge, light switches etc etc in the last week and not washed his hands before touching each and every thing?

If you haven't had that particular strain of the cold virus before then you'll come down with it too.

Unless you go around cleaning every door handle prior to using it and refuse to cuddle/kiss your DH whilst he's sick then you're most likely going to come into contact with his germs.

Also - when you say he didn't wash his hands before eating... are you implying you think his hands are dirty (ie. not been washed since going to the bathroom/ doing some sort of 'dirty' task?) or just that you didn't see him wash them immediately prior to eating?

If I'm at home I couldn't always 100% guarantee I'd washed my hands prior to eating. But if I've emptied the bins, been to the bathroom or blown my nose etc, then I will have immediately washed my hands after... So I would have thought they are clean enough to eat from.

I’m guessing you share a bed with him, kiss and cuddle him? You’re probably going to get the cold anyway.
