To complain about spa treatment

Yesterday I went to health club and spa to treat myself to a full body massage. This isn’t something I do often, I think the last time must have been about 6 years ago. The place looked lovely, dimly lit whilst walking to one of many treatment rooms and smelt amazing.

The woman giving my treatment was wonderful however, the treatment room next door to us arrived around 5 minutes after us and I could hear pretty much their whole conversation. The client and staff member were both incredibly loud and laughing at many points.

I understand that everyone likes to relax in their own way but I found it incredibly difficult to relax whilst enjoying my massage due to the noise. The woman treating me even turned the music up very loud to drown out the noise and apologised a couple of times.

So, AIBU to email the spa place to complain?

That would ruin my relaxing treatment.
I once had similar happen when I went for reflexology but it was staff loudly chatting and laughing in the kitchen next door. I was so annoyed, I left more tense than when I arrived!
I would Email them.

Similar happened to me but I sad something at the time and asked therapist to please go ask them to keep the noise down as perhaps the next room was not aware at how the noise travelled. That then followed with some staff in their break gathering in a room on the other side making a lot of noise. I didn’t say anything but therapist apologised. As I’d gone with a friend, whom I met up with in the relaxation room after our treatments, and I told her about the noise, she went and complained on my behalf right then. They halved my treatment fee

So from my own experience, yes, email them. YANBU.
