Apologies in advance for posting this on AIBU but posting here for traffic.

My right nipple started feeling sore a few days ago but it's getting progressively worse. It feel just like it did when I had Mastitis many years ago when BF dc (who are certainly no longer babies).

I don't know if one of my kids banged their head on my breast or if it was due to a tight sports bra I wore last week but the are area around the nipper's feels sore and there are a couple of blisters or pimples or something like that but not sure how to best describe it.

Has anyone had anything like this? What could it be and what could have caused it. Confused.

I'll call the GP in the morning if it's not any better worrying now what this could be.

Yeah I had this a few years ago.

Milk duct totally blocked and infected. And I failed to breastfeed. My child was 8 years old.

Oldraver · 20/05/2021 21:45

I had Mastitis a while after a botched breast biopsy

painfullyshywhy · 20/05/2021 22:25

Oh definitely call the dr. And I hope you feel better. Mastitis is awful and I can't believe you can still get it when you're not bf

Blocked milk duct for me too - I hadn’t breast fed for 3 years.
Sorted with antibiotics.
I know you are panicked because it’s a lump because I was too. Ring your GP in the morning .

I've had this issue three times - started roughly 4 years after I'd finished BF.

I was referred to the breast clinic each time and they did a mammogram and ultrasound and it was a cyst. Linked to hormone changes. Incidentally I've been extremely stressed each time it happened.

Each time it has resolved itself into nothing. One thing the consultant I saw the third and final time did advise was to take a high dose of evening primrose oil - 3000mg for 3 months and then cut in down to 2000mg for eternity Grin

No issues since.

Hope it gets resolved for you quickly Thanks

Sorry I did have a course of anti biotics each time. One time it needed a second course.

Hope i don’t scare you - but I had this and it turned out to be a treatable cancer. I would get checked out asap just in case. I was very scared at the time but it all worked out in the end.

Arrrg it's itchy too and feels a bit leaky Hmm. Might be thrush? Or possibly blocked milk duck. I've also had insane stress recently and am peri menopausal juts started my period today. Will call the GP in the morning. Thank you everyone.
