To want the lounge, to lounge in ?

All my kids have desks in their bedrooms but for some reason my son insists on doing his homework, and currently his revision, in our lounge.

We have one TV and it is in the lounge

I have been at work all day and coming down with a cold too

AIBU to want to sit in the lounge and relax not have to listen to him revising in the only room I can relax in? !

He is thirteen and doing end of year exams Wink

Just boot him out! Quicker than coming to AIBU

Chloemol · 20/05/2021 18:41

Just go 8n, put the tv on and relax. If he moans point him to his bedroom

bungabungaboo · 20/05/2021 18:42

Nice idea, but my 'd' h is sitting with him and helping him revise Angry

TBH it's better than him being in his room and online rather than revising. Can you make a space for him or is there anywhere else downstairs he can work?

bungabungaboo · 20/05/2021 18:43

The kitchen
The 'front' room - where his drum set and lego reside

I’d just be happy that my DS was happily revising! Can you use your phone/iPad/tablet and shove some headphones in, or go for a relaxing bath or something?

Notaroadrunner · 20/05/2021 18:45

Just tell himself and Dh to go to his bedroom or the kitchen.

bungabungaboo · 20/05/2021 18:45

I am happy, just peri menopausal and grumpy Grin

It is good that your dh is helping him but I get a sense that it is a little 'performance parenting' ?

Like dh will help him but you must watch and not relax whilst he is doing so!

Darbs76 · 20/05/2021 18:47

No I wouldn’t be annoyed at all, I’d be happy he was revising

bungabungaboo · 20/05/2021 18:48

Honestly not performance parenting!

He has been revising for weeks

His sister is upstairs getting on with her gcse 'exams'

When will it be over Confused

bungabungaboo · 20/05/2021 18:51

Get a telly in your bedroom. I know its a big MN no no but I honestly love leaving my teens to it and getting into bed early to watch TV and eat cereal for tea.

bungabungaboo · 20/05/2021 18:53

shine14 we had one

I put it downstairs in the 'front' room where it has stayed turned off ever since

Where I am they want to be 😁
