Estate agents misleading us

Hello, v frustrated, just want to vent really. Accepted an offer on our house a week ago, from a ‘cash buyer’ according to the estate agents. It’s very much a sellers’ market where we live, and we were having trouble finding somewhere to move to. Something we saw and liked a few weeks ago sold, but we found out today the sale had fallen through and was back on market. We got v excited, looked at it again this morning, offered close to the asking price but when the vendor’s estate agent carried out their due diligence checks they discovered we’re in a chain of 5 and our offer was rejected in favour of a lower offer by someone in a smaller chain. I didn’t know we were in a chain of 5! Wibu to tell the agent how pissed off we are and get them to put our house back on the market pending exchange or even pull out all together on the basis that we have zero chance of finding somewhere that we want at the moment

No, not at all unreasonable, but check first. It may be that the second agent is wrong.

Thanks, I can’t get hold of ours at the mo, didn’t even get the chance to double check! So annoying

Eurgh I’m sorry. We found out our buyer had pulled out from the vendors estate agent... ours hadn’t bothered to tell us, but told them when they called to chase a document Angry

How annoying! They sound useless!

I’d definitely look to put it back on the market. A chain of 5 is way too precarious
