I don't know if I am over reacting or not.
We have a mobile hairdresser and she came to do the grandkids hair. I was not there at the time as was visiting my daughter.
We have had a lot of rain here and the hairdresser arrived presumably wet. Apparently DP said to her 'Are you wet? We have a tumble dryer if you want to change.' My eldest granddaughter relayed this to me as she found it funny (As in 'If Jane had put her clothes in there she would have nothing on kind of thing.'
I can't help but think this was very inappropriate of DP. By all means offer a towel but this seems extreme. I do trust him but aibu in thinking it was inappropriate what he said?

Maybe he also offered her an outfit of yours to change into, maybe she said she had a change of clothes with her, maybe he just said something silly and realised as the words came out of his mouth and was then too embarrassed to repeat the story to you or maybe granddaughter is exaggerating a story. I think you're overreacting unless there's a massive backstory as doubt your husband was coming into the hairdresser in front of his grandkids

Mandsy100 · 19/05/2021 13:14

Yabu I have done this before when someone has a jacket or sweater on. They would just stay in with whatever they had on underneath, a tshirt or top?

3Britnee · 19/05/2021 13:14

🙄Biscuit

ComtesseDeSpair · 19/05/2021 13:17

I think you’re really reading something into this which wasn’t there. I assume he wasn’t actually suggesting that she carry out the haircuts naked - just that if she did have a change of clothes (and mobile workers often do, especially if they do a job which means they might spill something on their clothes) she was welcome to try the other set. I’m sure DH can contain himself at the thought of a woman changing her clothes somewhere in the house.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 19/05/2021 13:19

I think he was trying to get her naked to have his wicked way with her between the trims because as we all know professional hairdressers just can't be trusted not to sleep with random relatives of clients on a whim

Is this a serious question? Shock

Reflective190 · 19/05/2021 13:22

I just felt it was inappropriate. He does not really know her and she was only going to be in the house for a few minutes. Just seems a bit off.

KidneyBeans · 19/05/2021 13:23

I'd assume he meant her jumper/jacket, not that he was inviting her to strip.

I find your assumption weird tbh

VeganVeal · 19/05/2021 13:28

Sounds like the start of a Benny Hill sketch

Hopdathelf · 19/05/2021 13:29

Unless you know your DP is a bit of a letch it just sounds helpful and thoughtful.

Seesawmummadaw · 19/05/2021 13:30

You don’t trust him.

Nothing wrong with offering imo.
What do you think was wrong?

freakyfridays · 19/05/2021 13:32

I think AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair got it 😂

Justcallmebebes · 19/05/2021 13:42

Wildly inappropriate and I'd have called 111 or is it 101 or maybe just 999

TheRavenNevermore · 19/05/2021 13:44

LTB. For his sake. Do it.

BimBimBapp · 19/05/2021 13:48

How does she cut multiple kids hair in just a few minutes?

flashylamp · 19/05/2021 13:52

Yes you are over reacting Hmm

DanielRicciardosSmile · 19/05/2021 13:54

Yes OP, I am absolutely certain it was all a nefarious plan to have the hairdresser cut the kids' hair wearing only her bra and knickers. It can't in any way have been a helpful, if perhaps not entirely thought through, offer to stop her being uncomfortable.

MrsMaryBOOface · 19/05/2021 14:02

Was it my mobile hairdresser Jane? Because she is totally gorgeous to be fair so I can see where he was going... 😉

OhRene · 19/05/2021 14:06

I dry my hoodies in the dryer if they're soaked by rain whilst still being fully dressed and decent. 🤷🏻‍♀️

SympathyFatigue · 19/05/2021 14:23

He was clearly asking if she was aroused. Are you wet indeed. Kick him out. What a sleaze.

Or maybe her jumper was drenched and he thought she could dry it off.

Either way. Ducks in a row, ltb, ring 101.
