I think you'll find that the Nazis used those tactics to come to and remain in power
And I believe you'll find that a) if they'd had a swift boot up the jacksie, metaphorically speaking, back in 1932, a lot of problems would have been solved earlier before around 19 million murders of specific groups and an awful load of military personnel and civilians dying in particular and b) it took even more violence to put a stop to it by the time they'd got into the full swing of systematic murdering and invasions.
I'm not exactly advocating destroying dams, heavy water plants and carpet bombing Dresden here.
