Online bingo - am I missing something?

Got a free credit so thought I’d have a go, I know a couple of people who play it and seem to enjoy it.

I’m not a gambler but have had a couple of fun nights in the past playing bingo (with my dear old Nan), maybe I’m just not wired to enjoy gambling.

It seems like tickets just flash up then in seconds it’s over and despite playing loads with the free credits I didn’t win a thing. I’m not remotely tempted to add any of my own money, which I thought I might have a bit of a flutter.

Have I missed the point, is there a way to do it or a particular game that’s more fun? Or should o just go back to my book?!

No. That's pretty much it with the online ones

Well usually with the newbies, they win on their free credits, lose what they've won and then they're hooked.

You've had a lucky escape though.

I tried it a few times but it went too quickly to be enjoyable. I can see how it could become addictive so I am glad that I stopped when I did.

I play the free credits often and usually you get nothing. Then bam. 30 quid😂 Then nothingggggg.
But I wouldn't put money in. The odds are not in my favour so bit of a waste

Well usually with the newbies, they win on their free credits, lose what they've won and then they're hooked.

You also get the sites (probably most of them?) which then require you to carry on and put in a certain amount of real money before you can actually withdraw what you won with the free credit. Usually this results in losing everything, as you say!

It’s a game of chance and regulated so if luck is calling your name you win what else did you expect?

Furries · 17/05/2021 02:29

Online bingo, across most sites, is very secretive about the RTP (return to player) value, but it’s generally thought to be around 50% - ie for every £1 you put in you’d get 50p back.

It is the worst RTP for casino gambling (blackjack is usually RTP of around 99% and the two “best” slots are 98/98.5%). Of course, thes3 numbers are not guaranteed, but over the course of time and multiple plays, that’s how the RTP is worked out.

For a chance at long-term profit, you need to be doing casino offers that are +EV (expected value) - this is calculated by the RTP of the slot used, along with what you need to spend to receive your reward (x amount of free spins etc).

Even doing it this way, you will have downswings, but it’s to be expected. But I would NEVER do online casino on an ad-hoc basis. And definitely not bingo.

@Furries those are some interesting stats, makes you wonder how they get away with it!

@Beebeby I didn’t expect to win, I know the odds are atrocious, I just thought it would be a bit more fun, perhaps recreate a bingo game, you don’t even have to find the numbers yourself!
