To think I’ve made a massive mistake?

I’m learning a new course (online but suppose to have tutor help which I haven’t had yet). I thought I could do it but it’s awful, I can’t memorise graphs and tables and it’s more for people already doing the job (I have a degree so they said it was fine to start at a more advanced level).
I’ve had a headache all weekend from trying to understand it all.

I feel like such a failure.

What area you studying? I have a maths degree, I am an accountant and I have been working with graphs and tables for nearly thirty years. So I am puzzled as to what it is you are trying to memorise and if you might be approaching something incorrectly. I have never needed to memorise a graph or table.

If it helps I train at an advanced level , mainly online but it's specific higher level work based learning. It sounds similar because I'm the tutor that you have described supports with the course (obviously in a different field).

What I would say is so many people feel the same at the beginning of the qualification. It's really normal. Like yours there is often a space between starting and your tutor speaking to you but as soon as they do it feels more manageable.

My learners are Managers and senior managers and many of them have been doing the job for well over a decade but 80% of my cohort have had a meltdown this week. It feels really overwhelming at the beginning and becomes much clearer within a month.

Take a breath and step away. If it doesn't need to be done ASAP then wait until Monday and contact the Tutor (even if you email the people you signed up to they can get them to contact you).

Remember the whole point of a qualification is you are not going to be perfect at it straight away or what would be the point in doing the qualification at all? You are supposed to progress and get better so its really normal to find things that are hard.

Oh thank you so much to you both. It’s procurement/buying with the intention of going into a junior role once I’ve finished.

I was just working my way through but then looking at the exam questions once I’d finished each section and was like HmmConfused

I’ve still got 2 months before my first 2 exams do I hope it becomes clearly like you said.
