More details needed here. Do you mean USA style college? (like UK university?)

Brokenrecord3006 · 16/05/2021 09:24

16 for college, when I finished school.

something2say · 16/05/2021 09:25

Did A levels at school, so no college at that point.

But I've been to college and got qualifications several times as an adult and wouldn't rule out doing it again.

Runaway3444 · 16/05/2021 09:31

Uk college

32yrs old

Onairjunkie · 16/05/2021 09:49

College at 16. Uni at 18, nearly 19. Job at 21. Postgrad at 25. Doctorate at 32.

BanginChoons · 16/05/2021 09:52

I did an access course aged 31. Then a healthcare degree at 33.

AFS1 · 16/05/2021 09:52

Did A-levels at school and then went to Uni at 18, so never went to college.

IceSwallowCome · 16/05/2021 09:55

Is this about your son again?

Runaway3444 · 16/05/2021 09:56

I’m looking at an access course and I’m in my 40’s. I wondering if there will be other 40 year olds or older there.

Your question assumes everyone went to college, the vast majority of us didn't or dont

Is there some back story here?

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 16/05/2021 10:02

Why didn't make this your OP then instead of a random question that can't possibly be reasonable or unreasonable? Grin
SmallPrawnEnergy · 16/05/2021 10:06

You’d be better off posting this in the appropriate category not AIBU since it’s not an AIBU question and it’ll attract all the snarks.

Fwiw, I went back to college to do a foundation degree at 22 and felt old and ostracised but that probably had more to do with the course and the college than anything else. When I went to university the next year there was loads of 40+ 1st years and no one batted an eye. The majority had come through access courses.

EvilOnion · 16/05/2021 10:07

16, 25, 30, 32.

Everytime I've been there have been a variety of ages. The first time I did a childcare course and there was a lady in her 70's!

Go for it Grin

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 16/05/2021 10:07

First time I was 18 and was the oldest one on the course 😂

Second time I was in my 30s and the age range was from 16-late 40s

Nitgel · 16/05/2021 10:08

42 ! Foundation degree

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2021 10:08

17, there were no 40 year olds there, but I assume as far as access courses go then any age could attend. Don't know how finance works though, mine was paid for by my employer at the time.

BelleClapper · 16/05/2021 10:09

26 to do a Psychology A level.

41 to start a l3 apprenticeship. The other apprentices on my course vary from 20s through to 40s.

HippeePrincess · 16/05/2021 10:10

I did an access at 30 just finishing my degree now at 34, plenty my age and older on both courses. A couple of grandparents even. Go for it.
