Just finished dissertation and exhausted...could do with a break really but start work Monday albiet very part time till I qualify.
Teen dd being difficult and I just want to sleeeeeeeeeep. Feel that I should gave put off work for a bit longer but they start to make noises.
I am also addicted to coffee and screens although I did a lot of walking in lockdown.

Would like to point out that sleep isn't great and I am moving house in a month!

I know what you mean OP, I find life overwhelming a lot of the time.

I honestly find that having screen-free time helps, even if at first you just schedule one hour a day where you leave your phone/iPad in another room.

I also do some form of yoga/stretching every day as it helps me to reset my body after sitting at a desk all day. I also lift weights - some form of exercise will do you good, help to relieve stress and might help you to sleep better.

Definitely try to prioritise your sleep a bit more and aim for at least 7 hours a night. Limit screen time before bed and don’t drink coffee etc after teatime would be my advice! I find that sleep is the foundation and everything else falls into place after that.

Can you be very kind to yourself this weekend? Is your dd at school, can you have a nap later, maybe a walk this morning even if it's just around the block?

You've got 3 days to relax and catch up and I do find that keeping things as simple as possible helps - freezer food or a bit of soup and salad, bread and cheese, some fresh air every day and hot baths, makes life better.

Getting your dissertation done is a HUGE achievement, reward yourself.
