My daughter and her peers sat a test at school, she knows it tested for dyslexia and "other stuff" but she doesn't know what.

The results of this test meant that she has been allocated 25% extra time so I would like to know why? I have emailed the school but usually wait around 2 weeks for a reply, can anyone shed any light?

How old is she? Primary/secondary?

How old is your daughter?

I received extra time for formal exams (Standard Grades, Highers) as a teenager but I had to produce a doctor's line and sit a timed test. It wasn't a generic test for "dyslexia and other stuff" as my condition was established.

Having said all that, I wouldn't sniff at additional time if it's up for grabs. It was most helpful. Grin

Sorry she's year 10, currently awaiting assessment for ASD but she assures me this was a standardised test for her whole peer group.

I wouldn't know what test, but schools can run screening tests to check for things like slow processing or slow handwriting that can impact their speed in exams. It's no big deal. (And imo not worth chasing the school about right now whilst they are trying to get y11s to the finish line, wait until after 18th June.)

Have you noticed any issues with processing or handwriting or concentration?

MIDYIS?

@teenMinusTests

It's a short email asking what test she took it's hardly a Major issue that requires a multi teacher meeting. I don't think it will take away from the year 11 prep in the slightest.
