On the back of thread about trans weight lifter. I believe women have to come together, take a stand, and refuse to participate in ANY sporting events on the days that trans women are due to participate in female heats of women’s sports. I think silent non violent protests, the world over, by REFUSING TO PLAY SPORT on the days these competitions are due to take place we need to send a clear noble message - we have finally had enough.

Which sport will you be giving up?

Im not taking up a sport just to give it up.

I don't think the OP means you and your mates forgoing your weekly squash session at the leisure centre.

I don't think that it would work, not least because not every woman or indeed female athlete sees anything inherently wrong with trans women and women participating in the same events.

Tilt Why would it be a joke? Women are some of the most ardent supporters of trans ideology which is why you'll find women who question the orthodoxy get written off as terfs/bigots etc.

Well it was an idea. We are being writte out of biology books - women no longer have periods, women no longer have babies, women no longer use tampax. Now we are at threat in sports - particularly physical sports such as boxing or MMA or any other sport where trans men have decided to compete in women only heard/sports. I don’t particularly care how you identify, but I disagree with women being written out and trampled all over. Any other ideas welcome... just a discussion starting point really.

Elphaba I think it's not so much that women are being written out of biology books and becoming an extinct species.... it's that the idea now is that "not only women have periods, use tampax, carry babies." The idea centres not on the erosion of women but the inclusion of others. Where one stands on that is their opinion - I know what my own view is. But it's not for me to judge others.

I agree op, although I don't think it's really that easy to refuse, without actually giving up their sporting careers.

I admire the sentiment but it's not practical - professional athletes have sponsorship obligations, and refusing to participate could breach those, as well as harming those athletes' careers.

I say participate but turn their backs on the podium if they're sharing it with a male athlete or similar.
