Scrambled eggs and tuna?!!

I was trying to work out what to have for breakfast and my lovely husband was coming up with ideas.

He suggested scrambled eggs and tuna.
AIBU to think that is a bizarre combination?
He said I am lacking imagination!

YABU = it sounds delicious
YANBU = LTB, that sounds grim

I’m on the fence. Not a classic combo, but not awful either.

TheQueef · 10/05/2021 09:12

It's dirty.

Bluedeblue · 10/05/2021 09:13

Mashed egg and tuna is amazing. So, boil the eggs, then mash, add salt and salad cream, then serve with tuna. Amazing!

Mrsjayy · 10/05/2021 09:14

Oh man that sounds rank, you enjoy though Envy Grin

Palavah · 10/05/2021 09:14

Sounds awful but smoked salmon works...

MrsTrumpDuTurnip · 10/05/2021 09:15

I dry heaved when I read that 😳😀

Elouera · 10/05/2021 09:16

Never tried it, but wouldn't rule out giving it a try. A salad nicoise has tuna and boiled eggs, so it doesn't sound too out there.

My DH thought that peppers go in a carbonara! Hmm

Zancah · 10/05/2021 09:17

Wow, you just made me throw up in my mouth a little.
Any degree of warm tinned tuna is illegal in my house. It just should not be allowed.
I think it stems from the childhood trauma of my dads attempt at tuna pasta bake.

Scrambled eggs with brown toast and proper butter is my perfect breakfast, you don't need to sully it with tuna.

idontlikealdi · 10/05/2021 09:21

That made me want to throw up!

Crumpetsandhoney · 10/05/2021 09:42

We eat scrambled eggs with everything .fry onions or spring onions maybe tomato and garlic and herbs then add the eggs and scramble through them. Yummy and quick works for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Crumpetsandhoney · 10/05/2021 09:43

Forgot to say add the tuna with the tomatoes

JackANackAnoreeee · 10/05/2021 09:45

Not a usual combination but I'd give it a go.

user1493494961 · 10/05/2021 09:46

I often have chopped hard-boiled eggs, tuna and mayonnaise with jacket potato. I don't think I would want tuna for breakfast.

BrownEyedGirl80 · 10/05/2021 09:47

Add cheese and you've got crustless tuna quiche.I think it works like that but not just with eggs and tuna

Westfacing · 10/05/2021 09:48

Doesn't sound too bad!

I remember finding it strange when tuna melts became a thing - I mean tinned tuna with melted cheese? I do like them though!

If you can have scrambled eggs with smoked salmon then nothing wrong with tuna

felinelucky · 10/05/2021 09:48

I'd feel a bit icky about the texture. But in the past I've made an omelette with tuna and a little sprinkle of grated cheddar, zappped briefly under the grill. Very nice.

41stars · 10/05/2021 09:48

Nope!

Titterofwit · 10/05/2021 10:16

Even the thought of warm tinned Tuna gives me the boak.
I love tuna though and often make Tuna Pasta which is basically tuna and sweetcorn gently warmed by the cooked pasta. With mayo and cheese on top .
That doesnt even make any sense to me !

inmyslippers · 10/05/2021 10:17

I'd assume you're trying to get hench

Amdone123 · 10/05/2021 10:23

Tuna is only good when mixed with proper mayonnaise. I say good, I mean passable.
Horrible stuff really. Tuna melts, tuna bakes and that horrible concoction slimming worlders do - pasta, tuna and sweetcorn. So dry and tasteless.

FuckyouCovid21 · 10/05/2021 10:24

Also make tuna omelettes so I'd eat it

slashlover · 10/05/2021 10:27

It's secret option number 3, neither of you IBU to like or not like a food.

sashh · 10/05/2021 10:46

I'm assuming tinned tuna?

Nope, does not work for me and I make kedgeree for breakfast occasionally
