Is it cheeky to ask for this?

I applied for a TA job through a Teaching agency and started work. The contract ends in July.

The Head asked me if I would like to carry on working at the school after my contract ends and that the school would like to employ me as a TA.

Is it cheeky to ask the Head if I can sign the contract before July. If I dont, I will miss out on the summer hols pay and I need the money.

(I have moved this thread from Staffroom to AIBU as I didnt get any responses.)

You will have accrued holiday and be entitled. But not cheeky one bit.

I don't think so no. If you are what they are looking for then it would be easier for them to have you employed rather than start recruiting in the summer holidays.

I went back to work for the last day of term in July after maternity for this reason. The head suggested it. I then obviously had the holidays off and came back in September.

You can ask but I’d be surprised if he did it.
