Moving from Sky

Have been with Sky for 18 months as a new customer, to engage in a new 18 month contract it will cost me an extra £50 a month. I've checked with Virgin and for faster broadband speed, more TV and a mobile sim I will save £80 a month!

The customer service guy didn't care less when I mentioned moving, said that I wasn't new anymore and so be it. No incentive offered to stay. I feel no brand loyalty, I don't even get an email account, to stay, it's simply broadband and tv. Nothing even to stop me bouncing between the two companies every 18 months. £170 a month is disgusting.

AIBU to move? Am I missing something?

I think I already know the answer but wanted the discussion.

I'd leave and give it a few weeks (don't bother signing up to virgin yet). Our monthly SKY was £80 and that didn't even include cinema - we left when I got furloughed last year for a time and bloody weekly we get offers through the post to rejoin - now down to £23 per month like for like package we had before even though they refused to drop the price when we rang to cancel at the time!!!

Be very careful though...When we wanted to take advantage of the new deal the engineer came out to reconnect us with a new Sky Q box....and then said he couldn't because our sky dish was on the roof (where they bloody put it 8 years ago I might add!) And if we wanted sky back we'd need to have a new dish in a new location at head height down the side passage (🤷‍♀️) which would have required cables running on my walls all over the bloody house

Needless to say I declined and have signed up to NOW TV instead to get the couple of Sky Channels I wanted
