To wonder what things would look like if labour had been elected in December 2019

I honestly don’t know how things would have worked out.

Locked down sooner? For longer?

Anyone who knows more than me about politics want to throw some ideas in?

I have to say, whatever people think of Corbyn, I think that people would have been put first and we would have locked down sooner and for longer. I don’t think the death rate would have been as high but I think he would have got a hell of a lot more criticism than Johnson.

Boris is lazy and greedy, he will not become a dictator because he wants to make lots of money after being PM and we will get some freedom back, I don't think Corbyn would have given many freedoms back.

The poorer people have more to lose with lockdown though, so who knows whether he would have locked down sooner. We needed to kno it was necessary for people to go along it,

I suspect we would have locked down sooner, longer and harder.

The attempt at balance between the NHS and commerce would have been different, probably to the detriment of any commerce.

As Boris is essentially a libertarian I have more expectation of the restrictions being lifted. Corby I suspect would have taken the opportunity to nanny us more and would not have lifted some of the restrictions.

Death toll would probably be similar as I don't know that the Covid Plan of throwing money at it would have fit Corbyn's ideology either.

Think about that. Is it possible that Corbyn having been in charge might have meant that the money made available for vaccines may not have been handed out so liberally! It wouldn't just be the UK affected.

And that's the danger of "What Ifs"... Smile
