Asking for a reference

Hello,

I am an agency teacher applying for teaching jobs.
I spent a few weeks in a nursery class March to April time to which the other class teacher said she would love to provide me a reference when I start to apply for jobs.

I didn't ask her, she came up to me on my lunch one time and said that if I ever need a reference to put her name down.

I stupidly forgot to ask for her contact details on my last day and a few jobs have started popping up in my area.
As a supply teacher, it can be hard to get up-to-date references as often other staff, apart from TAs, do not see you teach.

My question is, should I put my agency down as a reference? Or should I email the admin at the school to ask about whether the class teacher would still be willing?

The only email address on the school website is the school office address but I feel a bit awkward asking in case she's changed her mind.

Frame the question differently. But I doubt it was a throwaway comment.

Just contact admin say [teacher] said to use them for a referree do I send it through you or direct to teacher? Chances are theyll give you the teachers email as you're not a parent nor are you selling something.
