To ask if anyone else feels REALLY tired a lot of the time?

I just feel tired. All the time. My sleep is ok. I exercise. I work. I eat really well. but I get up and feel already tired. I've been emerging a bit and socialising, and that's exhausting!

It's worse since Covid. I wonder if a year 'inside' as it were, hasn't helped? And then I started to worry it was worse since I'd had the Covid jab

Anyway, just wondered if it was a 'thing' right now.

Yes, I have very rare days where I don't feel tired !

FourEyesGood · 03/05/2021 08:56

Have you had your iron levels checked? I was really tired all the time a few years ago, then started taking iron supplements. They made a noticeable difference.

transsloth · 03/05/2021 08:56

I do, I have also just been prescribed iron and vitamin D tablets.

Liveonyournerves · 03/05/2021 08:57

I've been taking Ferrous Fumerate (iron tablets) the past week. I already take high dosage Vit D

I remember feeling like that when my DC were little...under 7. It's eased a lot since then

tinselvestsparklepants · 03/05/2021 08:58

This was me. And I had a blood test (I paid for an online one) and my vitamin D levels were ridiculously low. 3 months of high vit d supplements and I feel sooooooo much better. So yes, a year indoors maybe is part of this!

HUCKMUCK · 03/05/2021 08:59

I have had this for 6 months or so. It turns out that although I’m sleeping 8 hours or so a night, I am not getting good quality sleep.

In my case I think it’s sleep apnoea but there are many causes. If you can find it, there is a podcast hosted by Rangan Chatterji and one of the episodes is about sleep quality. Worth a listen.

HoboSexualOnslow · 03/05/2021 09:00

Same here. My bloods are fine, just feel exhausted! I think the mixture of England's lockdown easing excitement and also sheer terror is taking its toll aswell.

romdowa · 03/05/2021 09:02

I'm always tired but I'm anaemic and I've a sleep disorder. I've forgotten what energy feels like

HUCKMUCK · 03/05/2021 09:03

Just checked. The Podcast is called Feel Better Live More and it’s episode 11.

theworks · 03/05/2021 09:03

The iron tablets should help. I'm on them regularly and I always know when I'm anaemic as it really is a tiredness/lethargy like no other.

Make sure to take your tablets with some vitamin C, OJ or something like that. And avoid any dairy around the time you take them to boost your absorption. Apologies if you already know this 😇

I felt tired my whole life. Never woke up feeling refreshed. I tried ds's weighted blanket and omg the difference was unreal.

Justreadingtheforum3 · 03/05/2021 09:09

I've recently started having berocca and its good. Its mainly vitamin b. I have stopped feeling tired. Xx

Balaur · 03/05/2021 09:10

If you're vegetarian or vegan have you thought about a Vit B12 supplement?

Also I think it's quite useful to think about energy as being in the form of a battery which gets drained by physical AND emotional output, so ig you're stressed or anxious or even just getting used to be "social" again, it's draining your battery on top of the exercise you're doing or just the normal day to day stuff which also drains your battery.

I went and met some friends etc recently. Absolutely bloody knackered afterwards!! I also eat well etc although my sleep is buggered due to peri menopause.

Liveonyournerves · 03/05/2021 09:21

Thanks all. I'm post-meno, which def doesn't help. But I'll keep on with iron tablets
