Nosy sellers

We bought a lovely house last year and the sellers who were a fucking nightmare are still friendly with our neighbours and when they come over they peer over the fence and stare at our garden making comments about how it needs mowing etc. DH caught the husband trying to stare into our living room window and back door. Last time we just closed the curtains and went out as it was ridiculous but I found out they're coming round again this weekend and I know they'll be exactly the same. I want to tell them to fuck off.

Yes the garden is a mess because I've been working so much I've barely had time to think let alone mow the lawn! I might send DH out this time and ask them if they'd like to come in and rate it out of 10 if they're going to stare Hmm we've completely ripped the house apart and basically rebuilt it because of the previous owners incompetence,

Boiler attached to the toilet so it flushed hot water anyone?
Took the bath panel off and found it came compete with a dish to catch the leak..

It's really getting to me how much they judged our house last time and I don't even know why!

Aibu to tell them to fuck off and leave us alone?

If they're that bothered by the overgrown lawn, let them cut if for you.
Just close the ground floor curtains first.

I think you could have some fun with this. Some well placed “rude” gnomes or signs perhaps? Or be ready to confront them?

My friend had really nosy neighbours who used to stand at the bottom of their garden staring into her dining room (french doors) . They did it when I was there once and I gave them a huge smile and a big wave and they could not have retreated any quicker!

I can’t judge nosiness because I’d be worse than them Grin

Next time you notice them just have a loud conversation with your husband they can overhear

“‘ I wish we could get to the garden improvements but there is just so much to do out there, but with all the fixes that we still have to do to the house to make it livable I just don’t know when we’ll get to it. I mean, on what planet does it make sense to hook the toilet up to the boiler?! The place is in such horrible shape , it’s just a shame the former owners allowed the place to get in such bad shape. I’m not sure when we’ll get to making all the needed improvements to the garden”

Nothing like a bit of non violent/non illegal revenge on tossers.

Have the camera phone ready and take pictures of them peeping over the fence!

Or wave a *WELCOME BACK" banner!

Im sure you will get some helpful suggestions from other posters.

I live in a house on a corner with a parking bay alongside. Many vehicles use it as a "turning circle" and often seem to be looking into my garden. If Im outside while they do it I whip out an old phone and make like Im taking a picture of their car. They move off pretty fast then.

Grin I like these thank you !

I’d speak to them, what are you looking at? And if they mention the garden I’d laugh and mention how bad the interior wax and once you finally sort the fuck ups they made you’ll maybe do something. We had a neighbour from across the street who stood and stared in the kitchen window as I made dinner one Sunday. She was horrible to everyone, I just stopped what I was doing and stated bs m with my hands on my hips...she moved off.
