Just as the title suggests, interested to see. I thought it was wonderful that Prince Charles had both parents alive until the age of 72.

Am I being unreasonable?

I can't see there being many

I don't think I know of any, several who have A living parent when they reach that age but not both

My mum had both hers still at the age of 70, my amazing grandparents. They had their 70th wedding anniversary same year as Queen & Prince Philip.

SIL is that age and still has both living (in their late 80s)

I don't think it's that uncommon to reach that age. And it was common in the post war years to have your DC in your early 20s.

I'm 67 in a couple of weeks and have both parents in good health and pretty active.
I've only just lost my mother in law last month.

I am 60 and my father died years ago a very sudden death, mum only died before Christmas last year.
There was a huge gap between my inlaws and my parents age yet oddly both dh father and mine were the same age when they died as were both our mothers !

I’m 63 and my father is his late 80’s. My mum died in an accident many years ago but came from a family of people who lived very long lives.

My DM had both her parents until she was 66 (my uncle was 67). My GM died aged 89 and my DM then died suddenly six months later aged 69.
My GP were married 66 years. I think they were married and had their first child at 18.

DH’s mum had both until she was 73 (they were teens when she was born).

Am pretty sure my dad made it to 64 (when his dad died of lung cancer, having given up cigs 22 years earlier). Dad's parents were 19 & 17 when he was born. I guess my aunt was 61 when her 1st parent died -- her older parent then lived another 6 years.

This is kind of sad because I don't think my dad will have another 10 years. :(

DH is 61 this year and his father is still here. He is 91 does all his own shopping, cooking, cleaning and gardening, also does a 20 minute exercise routine every morning and still very alert and witty.

I am a bit younger, my parents are now 85 and 87.

We had an 82year old patient in hospital recently and her 100 year old DM rang up every day to check on her. Grin

My DF lived to 101 and DM to 99 but had children later in life so both were dead before I reached 65.
DH’s parents had him very young (19), but died young too. They were 55 and 61. Neither lived to see our children grow up, unlike my much older parents.

I care for people in their late 90s who have a daughter in her 70s and then a grand daughter and great granddaughter.

My best friend is 50 and has not only her parents (70s) but all of her grandparents (1 is 102 and the other 100; other side 90s) too. All active, mobile, do their own shopping

On my 60th birthday both my parents were alive. My mother's mother was alive until she was 65. Out of all my 60ish friends though, no one else has both parents left but most do still have one.

My mum was 62 when her dad died. There are 2 women that I work with who are both 63 and both their DMs are still alive and in their 90s

My dad just lost his first parent, he is 71. My grandad isn't well though so looks like he will lose both in a short period. Amazing.
