CIPD Level 7 Advanced Strategic People Management

Sorry, don’t know where to post and hoping it will be moved if there’s somewhere more suitable.....

I stupidly thought I’d be capable of the above Advanced Diploma with the CIPD but having now sat through two of the lectures online, I’m having a real wobble. I’m not entirely sure what I should be doing between now and the second half of the lectures for the module, or where I’m even going to start with the assignment. I’ve worked in HR for 10 years so have the practical experience, I’ve also studied with the CIPD before but classroom based. I know I could contact my tutor but everyone else appeared to know exactly what they were doing and I just don’t want to come across as being dim!

Appreciating that this is one of their newer qualifications, I was wondering if anyone on here is studying the same qualification and could inbox me?

I didn't want to read and run, though unfortunately I am not familiar with this qualification.

As a general observation, if a course doesn't feel challenging at the start then it is probably too easy for you. Please don't give up!

As for the assignment, is there a tutor you could reach out to to clarify the work a bit more, bounce some ideas off?

I did the Level 5 recently, I found it overwhelming too for most of the course and made millions of notes. I too have years of experience.

When it came to the assignment, I spoke to the tutor, did a draft and we then had a phone call and went over where I was not getting the objectives quite right.

I also found out others had done the same so it’s possibly your course mates are feeling the same!

Thank you both soo much for replying. Coincidentally, the provider emailed me today, inviting me attend a Study Skills seminar tomorrow!! I’ve also reached out to my Tutor. Fingers crossed it starts to fall in to place. Xx

Hi, I’m wondering how things went with your course? I’m about to embark on a CIPD course but can’t decide if I should go for level 5 or level 7. I have almost 18 years experience in HR but haven’t studied since I left school. Would be great to hear your thoughts. X
