Is this level of rage normal when I see things like this

^^ people using their phone whilst driving to take videos, selfies etc. People I don’t know sometimes online, sometimes people I do know, some with kids in the car.

I’m not a ragey person generally but it really heats me to the point I feel like writing a long ass commenting but I doubt it’ll teach them.

I have a relative who was in an accident caused by another driver distracted using their
phone! They are left with life long disabilities after spending months in a coma and family being told he won’t make it! But he did... but is never able to work or have a normal life again.

So it stems from this. I just feel a level of rage I shouldn’t. It gets under my skin so bad 😒

Aibu?!

Saw a bloke the other day driving while clearly on a video chat, phone held up in front of his face. There's no way he was looking at the road or in control of the car.

Bad driving kills, so I wouldn't say that your feelings are disproportionate.

Happens all the time round here. There's been yet another accident on the pedestrian crossing near us, caused by people not noticing the red light and carrying on through because they are looking at their phone. In the last 4 weeks two people have been knocked over and the car driven off without checking everyone is OK. Thankfully no-one has been killed.

Crossing is just up from a primary school too.

So, no OP I don't think your rage is disproportionate.

Bad drivers are my rage too, I send in videos recording on my dash cam to the police and have had quite a few convictions too. I've even had to call the police whilst driving on the motorway about a driver being a complete dick. These dickheads will have an accident and hurt innocent people and will probably walk away without a scratch or conviction, it annoys the hell out me.

Many years ago I had a driver side-swipe me on the motorway. They sped up out of nowhere on my right then kept veering in to me. I was a new driver and although I’d had motorway lessons after passing my test I simply didn’t have the experience on how to properly deal with such a situation. They ended up clipping me, I went into a fishtail skid at 70mph, eventually losing control and hitting the inside crash barrier at around 50mph.

The car that clipped me drove off. The police came out and said that due to their erratic driving the other person was most likely on their phone, hence their not stopping.

Amazingly I came out of the car un-injured but with bad seatbelt burns on my neck.

People who use phones whilst at the wheel of their car give me the total rage.
