AIBU to wonder why you feel extra hungry the day after fast food?

Anyone else find they feel more hungry than normal the day after they eat fast food?

OH wanted McDonald’s to help cure his hangover last night (didn’t work! Wink) so I ended up buying it for everyone. We haven’t eaten one for over a year and I don’t think I’ll be rushing back.

Today I have felt far more hungry than usual despite eating the same food I would usually eat today. I remember this happening last time the day after having a McDonald’s.

AIBU to wonder why? I’ve eaten less with an at home cooked meal and felt more full.

Is it because it’s ‘empty calories?’

Just curious! Blush

Processed cards. McDs is very sugary plus the white bread buns, etc. It starts your blood sugar off on a roller coaster and you end up having more cravings.

High processed and sugary food causing blood sugar level spikes. Maybe with MSG increasing appetite, but I don't know how long that lasts. Possibly an increase in salt increasing thirst, which can feel like hunger?

The McDonald's buns are like cake. Sugary, very little fibre and just not satisfying. The fries taste bland and processed, too so probably aren't any better.

You didn't eat enough fast-food.
