Doing couples therapy at the moment. I understand that key is to focus on myself and what I can do to make things better, rather than blaming my partner and expecting him to change.
I feel I have really been doing this but he’s not taking any responsibility and unless I leave I will just end up feeling responsible for everything and swallowing down my unnhappiness about things (e.g. silent treatment)
I don’t feel like I can do that, but then I feel like I’m not trying hard enough at couples therapy.
AIBU to think you can’t just focus on yourself in this way?
