To report someone's online profile?

I've been dating a guy for a few months. Things are going alright, but we are not exclusive yet (our choice). (I am bi)

There is a long story to this. But to cut it short, an ex of the guy I am dating has decided that she wants to give things another go with him. The guy I am dating has said no and cited that he was dating me. They had remained friends after deciding not to date. The other girl is a vague acquaintance who I met at parties etc pre covid. I had her on facebook.

Apparently she hit the roof when she heard that he was dating me. I woke up to a torrent of abuse on facebook messenger and she claims I betrayed her. Before I could respond, I was blocked.

The guy I am dating went for a walk with her the other day to explain that there is no chance of them happening, so to quit it. Apparently she went crazy about me and told him that if she ever saw me, she would smack me silly. She is a rough piece of work. I tried to ignore all of this.

I was bored the other night I was bored and going through my old online dating profile. I saw that the other girl came up as an option (she is bi too).

I reported her profile for her threatening offline behaviour. Apparently her profile has been taken down.

AIBU to report her profile? After all she has threatened me. I wouldn't want someone else to go through this, just because she can't have what she wants.

What did she threaten?

RachelRavenR0th · 24/04/2021 15:08

As a one off you'll be ok reporting a profile especially since it is a woman. Ive a friend who started reporting the profiles of all the men who send unsolicited disgusting pictures or comments. They banned HER!!!

But id also keep firmly in mind, beyond the messages, it is information coming from a man you hardly know, who is clearly keeping another woman thinking she is in with a chance by throwing her crumbs. He did not need to go for a walk with her.

I wouldnt continue dating this man.

RachelRavenR0th · 24/04/2021 15:09

Are you also bi? Is that how she came up as an option?

RachelRavenR0th · 24/04/2021 15:10

Sorry completely missed that you are bi!

SameToo · 24/04/2021 15:12

Christ. Do people even read the OP?? Says in there she’s bi and that the other person threatened to smack her silly.

BrilliantBetty · 24/04/2021 15:14

Unless she said it to your face and actually threatened you I think it's a bit unnecessary to report her dating profile.

This was all relayed to you via the man so could be untrue / exaggerated and it doesn't have much to do with her online dating anyway?

Allegedly threatened to smack her silly. Allegedly said to a man who was going for an innocuous walk with his allegedly threatening ex, who he knows has been abusive towards the girlfriend he is with. And the OP reported her profile (goodness knows what for since the profile wasn't doing anything) whilst browsing through her dating site, which she was doing because she was bored and definitely not because she thinking of trading in her boyfriend, the one who goes for walks with his ex, the ex allegedly threatening her.

Soap opera 101, really.

My concern would be that they two of them carry on like this all of the time. Falling out and being dramatic and you are being used as something for them to create some drama about.

eatsleepread · 24/04/2021 18:15

He didn't have to meet her for a walk to tell her that it's not going to happen. Are you sure he doesn't feed off the drama of being wanted by two women?

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 24/04/2021 18:20

Yabu, sounds like the guy is trying to play you off against each other by relaying all this info from one to the other.

Even if it is true surely its better for you if she moves on anyways, why are you trying to prevent her meeting someone?

B33Fr33 · 24/04/2021 18:38

I'd be giving the guy a swerve. Too much drama.

CirclesWithinCircles · 24/04/2021 18:55

Doesn't sound like hes single.

Why are you being taken in by this drama?
