To think that if a post is deleted...

That posts that follow which quote the deleted post should also be removed?

I've seen so many threads in the past couple of days where there's a post quoting a deleted post which hasn't been deleted.

Why not? Has anyone else noticed this?

Posts that quote deleted posts are deleted saying that. Some will inevitably be missed.

GreenTeaBlackCoffeeAndRedWine · 21/04/2021 21:53

But more posts than not seem to remain. I haven't seen the quoted posts deleted for a good while now

If they've missed them, report the posts.

If they've missed them, report the posts.
Exactly.

Generally, posts quoting a deleted post will be deleted too. I haven't noticed this not happening.

Eminybob · 21/04/2021 22:03

They will only likely be deleted if they are reported - so that’s what you need to do when you see them.

Bluntness100 · 21/04/2021 22:04

Usually they are deleted if they are missed, report, it’s not a big deal or thread worthy is it?

Babyroobs · 21/04/2021 22:08

Is it the poster that deletes the post or MN ?
I think MN has become a really horrible place at times.
I felt so sorry for the op of a post that has been recently removed. People come here for support and must go away feeling worse.

@Babyroobs I've just seen one it was brutal what I read the lady had issues I was writing a reply to say I hope she finds happines what ever the out come and the posts had been deleted I'm now sat hoping shes ok

KrisAkabusi · 21/04/2021 22:25

If they are quoted they get deleted. But if someone has cut and pasted the message, it won't be tracked and can't therefore be automatically removed.

Yes I seriously hope she is ok too. It was brutal. I'm appalled.
