To not know what to do with 3 hours by myself!

I've unexpectedly just got three hours child free today.

Just 3.

I need to use them wisely!

Do I nap? Watch tv? Bath?

What would you do?

An hour of each.

Spidey66 · 21/04/2021 10:57

No, that sounds like lockdown activities!

Swimming, haircut, browse shops, wine in a beer garden?

1122bucklemyshoe · 21/04/2021 10:57

Oh that's a good plan! I'm delirious with excitement about some me time! Grin

I never have even 1 hour to myself. Let alone 3. I'd go for a trawl around a garden centre and a Chinese buffet to myself whilst watching carpetbagger on youtube with the headphones on.

I still need to do the school run at 3 and don't have the car today so I am limited!

I do love 'lazy' activities lockdown has changed me 😅

Combine bath/tv, if you can. Sleep for 2 hours. Grin

AdaThorne · 21/04/2021 11:02

Walk round the nearest garden centre and then a coffee and a slice of cake from the posh van in their car park. And then a bath with a magazine.

I was thinking binge watching something in the bath with a sneaky gin (just one) then having a nap 😅

What an exciting life I lead 😂

I'd only do stuff that I can't do whilst the kids are in the house.

JackieTheFart · 21/04/2021 11:05

I would play the game I’ve just bought or have a nap.

BruceAndNosh · 21/04/2021 11:05

Go to the toilet alone.
Bliss

Then sleeping tv and baths definitely come under that bracket! 😂

I hope you get it.

DH went to the office for the first time in fifteen months, then DS announced he was working 1 - 6, I was delirious with excitement, then his shift was cancelled.

He went out with one of his mates to play rugby, I got an hour, one fecking hour.

Reader I almost wept.

Added to which DH declared head office graveyard like and weird and he isn't minded to rush back then I wept big wet salty tears. Grin

DialsMavis · 21/04/2021 11:10

I'd go for a run and then sit outside a cafe and eat something lovely... Or plan to do those things then just dick about on my phone until there wasn't enough time

Cam2020 · 21/04/2021 11:11

Sometimes it's lovely just to have the house to yourself. Don't put yourself under pressure to 'enjoy' the time doing something you're not in the mood for because you feel like you should be doing 'more' with the time!

Oh there's nothing more disappointing is there!

No chance of husband returning from work.

Oldest in school.

And youngest being collected from nursery and taken out by a grandparent for the afternoon! Randomly offered their services this morning! And this is the good grandparent who keeps them for ages. Not the one who takes them for a happy meal and brings them back 45 minutes later Wink

Once I have finished a bit of work and a bit of cleaning I have three clear hours for ME! Grin

This!

I think I will just be lazy and enjoy not being force fed plastic sandwiches and pretend cups of tea Grin

When my dc went back to school after about 4 months of homeschooling, the rest of the mums were organising champagne picnics etc. I said no thanks. I got home from school run, put my music on loud and danced round my empty house in absolute heaven.

stopringingme · 21/04/2021 11:37

Enjoy the silence !

Eat what you want, watch what you want and go to the toilet on your own and spend as long as you want there without the call of Mummy what are you doing and/or where are you.

StevieNix · 21/04/2021 11:42

Have a nice pampering style bath, maybe watch something whilst in the bath, then I would shove something in the slow cooker for dinner (one less job to do later), sit in the garden in the sun with a Diet Coke and listen to some music.

mumwon · 21/04/2021 11:42

mundane - I use to put tv on & iron
or ring up a friend & have a long chat
or if its warm enough -sit out in the garden with a cup of coffee & a book

rainbowandglitter · 21/04/2021 11:46

I use my free time to go to the gym or run... every single time.

EverythingRuined · 21/04/2021 12:22

If I had three hours free I wouldn't be on Mumsnet 😅

My phone was silenced and put away Grin

I had a red hot bath, watched the iPad while I was in there.

Then I lay on the bed cooling off for ages watching more tv Grin

That's about it! And I loved every minute!
