Reporting to school safeguarding lead

Is it anonymous if you report a safeguarding concern to school? How does it work?

I have a concern regarding a friends DC but I don’t want to fall out with her or cause any trouble...

Your identity should be kept confidential. However the nature of information you give may well identify you, eg something only you saw or would be aware of.
